 Report - Report on the "Human Rights" Seminar (SULH)

1. General overview

On July 30 - August 1, Law Information Center of SULH non-governmental organisation conducted Human Rights seminar in Ghanja city.

2. Programme beneficiaries.

There were 30 beneficiaries. They are:
Ghanja Education Department 10 persons
Ghanja ExCom 4 persons
Ghanja Police Office 10 persons
Ghanja Kapaz district ExCom 3 persons
Ghanja Kapaz district Education department 3 persons
Ghanja Kapaz district Police office 3 persons
Ghanja Nizami district ExCom 3 persons
Ghanja Nizami district Education Department 3 persons
Ghanja Nizami districtPolice Office 3 persons

3. Implemention procedure

Sulh NGHO conducted 3 days seminar in Ghanja. This seminar was organized by law information centre. Seminar lecturers were 5 employees of Sulh.

Meetings were held on July 30 1999 with the head of ExCom and representatives. During the meeting conversation was conducted concerning two days lease of two rooms and aim of the seminar.

The same day meetings were held with the head of Police office and head of education department, invitations were submitted to the seminar.

1st day of the seminar delivered on 31 July 1999:

10:00-10:15 Opening of the seminar
10:15-10:30 Introduction
10:30-11:15 What is Democracy?
11:15-11:30 Break. Tea and coffee
11:30-13:00 Procedures on realisation of democracy
13:00-14:00 Lunch
14:00-15:00 Generations of human rights
15:00-16:00 Group work on generations of human rights
16:00-17:00 Group work on Azerbaijan Constitution

2nd day of the seminar delivered on 2 August 1999

10:00-10:15 Presentation of seminar content
10:15-11:30 Rights of refugees, IDPs and martyr families
11:30-11:45 Break. Tea and coffee
11:45-13:00 Discussion on rights of refugees, IDPs and martyr families
13:00-14:00 Lunch
14:00-15:00 Children rights
15:00-16:00 Group work on the Law of children rights in Azerbaijan Republic
16:00-16:15 Break. Tea and coffee
16:15-17:00 Summing up and opinion and advises of seminar participants.

4. Related input.

DRC allotted grant to Law information centre for the delivery of Human rights seminar in Ghanja.

Implementation procedure.

There were 30 beneficiaries in the seminar. They are:

Aged between 18-60 30 persons

6. Management.

Head of Law information centre is responsible for its operation.
