HIV/AIDS AWARENESS TRAINING FOR TEEN-AGERS IN BAKU AREA

Azerbaijan Delegation of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society (AzRC) have organized a five-days Training of Trainers session on HIV/AIDS Awareness (01-06 November 2001).

The HIV/AIDS Awareness training targets 12 teen-agers from Baku schools (Sabail, Narimanov and Sabunchi districts) and 3 students from Baku Universities. Three instructors from "IHLAS" local Charity AIDS Association had been recruited to deliver training with a purpose to provide the trainees with "peer education techniques". The trainees will be awarded with Certificates that will empower them to disseminate the HIV/AIDS information amongst their schoolmates and the teenagers in general.

HIV/AIDS Awareness Training for Teen-Agers has been implemented within the Pilot HIV'AIDS Peer Education Project funded by the Netherlands Red Cross Society.
