CURRENT PROJECTS:

1. ABA – CEELI sponsors a Legal Aid Clinic at Azerbaijan University. The Clinic focuses on assisting indigent clients on matters involving women’s rights and prisoners’ rights. The Clinic can be contacted at (994 12) 98-91-41.

2. ABA – CEELI’s Legal Resource and Information Center contains about 500 law books in three languages: Azeri, English and Russian and three computers with free Internet access. Open: Tuesday-Thursday, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Friday, Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. It’s open to law students, practicing lawyers, NGOs, and the general public. 3. ABA – CEELI has established an ongoing Commercial Law Program that includes legal education lectures, twice a month, on current and practical topics of interest, directed toward lawyers who represent business clients. 4. ABA – CEELI sponsors Azerbaijan’s participation in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition among law students, studying at different Azeri universities. ABA – CEELI sends winning team to Washington to represent Azerbaijan in the International Rounds Competition, organized by International Law Students Association (ILSA).
