In April 2002 Center of Young Leaders began to realize a new project. This project is called Educational at Modern Civil Society and consists of conducting regional training-seminars which will be held in the West region of Azerbaijan for two-days. Those regions are Shamkir, Gazakh, Barda, Khanlar and Mingachevir.

Project objectives:The long-term objective is to promote civic consciousness among Azerbaijan=s population and to prepare the next generation of young leaders of civil society To foster better understanding of the role of community activism in a democratic society among youth, their parents, and society at large, in regions outside of the capital;To promote the use of teaching methodologies which promote critical thinking, democratic values and individual initiative;To identify and strengthen the capabilities of the next generation of leaders in the non-governmental sector; To strengthen the capacity of already-existing regional NGOs;To promote the formation of new NGOs.

During the each participant will be awarded 4 brochures on Social Service Ethics; The Third Sector in Democratic Society; Proposal Preparation; and Let's conduct a Congress. During the basic training, natural leaders who emerge, as well as well-motivated participants, will be encouraged to enroll in the next set of more advanced training seminars. They will participate on TOT (training of trainers), which will consist of a four-day course. For conducting TOT will invite guest trainers from Foundation for Education for Democracy (Poland). The advanced seminars will cover topics and skills such as:

This project is for one year (from the 1st April 2002 to 31st March 2003) and is financed by NED (National Endowment for Democracy). It is the continuation of project which was realized during a year- from the 1st of February of 2001 till the 31st of January of 2002.
