UNICEF Azerbaijan is seeking an experienced Operations Manager
(NO-C level, Fixed-Term Appointment. Vacancy № 04/17)
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of our financial, human resources and administrative operations, in support of UNICEF’s nationwide programme for Azerbaijan’s most vulnerable children.
As a senior management position in the UNICEF Country Office, this post is responsible for – amongst other duties – overseeing office systems, policies and procedures in line with organizational standards, leading strategic and financial planning and management to safeguard resources and assets and maximise their impact, supervising a small team that delivers human resource, administration and information technology services, advising senior management and other staff on compliance issues and the implementation of internal controls, and representing the organization in UN decision-making fora.
You will be making an important contribution to the smooth-running and effective delivery of important programmes that benefit Azerbaijani children and families. Professional, high quality operations enable UNICEF to do more with its resources, making the best use of its human and other resources to change the lives of children.
A highly essential position such as this demands a suitably highly qualified and experienced individual. As a minimum, we expect applicants to have:
An advanced university degree in accounting, business administration, economics, or financial management
Five years of relevant professional office management work experience in related areas
Technical knowledge on principles of office management, accounting, financial management, human resources, ICT, supply and administration
Fluency in written and spoken English and Azerbaijani
In addition we would consider prior experience working in the UN system or other international development organizations, as well as technical knowledge of UN operational policies and procedures, to be distinct advantages.
This position is only open to citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
